Description
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle sport coupe was modified and refurbished with a 540ci big-block V8, 700R4 automatic transmission, and 12-bolt rear axle with Eaton limited-slip differential. The body was repainted in black with white stripes, and the cabin was reupholstered in black vinyl.
The 540ci V8 features a GM 502ci block, Eagle Competition rotating assembly, 10.3:1-compression Mahle domed pistons, Merlin oval-port cylinder heads, COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, Crane Gold roller rockers, and ARP head bolts. It breathes through Holley Sniper EFI atop an Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake manifold. Cooling is provided by an aluminum radiator with twin 16" electric fans, and accessories are driven by a billet serpentine drive. The engine produces approximately 563 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque.
Suspension and handling include tubular front and rear control arms, Bilstein rear shocks, sway bars front and rear, and high-performance components. The car rides on 20" Weld Belmont wheels with 8" front and 9.5" rear width, mounted with General G-Max AS07 tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The interior features front bucket and rear bench seats upholstered in black vinyl, a center console, horseshoe-style shifter, Classic Auto Air climate control, Dakota Digital HDX instrumentation, and a Custom Autosound stereo linked to aftermarket speakers. A Comfort Grip-style tilting steering wheel is installed.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the 700R4 automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end with Moser cover, Eaton limited-slip differential, Tom's axles, and 3.55:1 gears. Sanderson ceramic-coated headers feed a Pypes exhaust system with Race Pro mufflers. The frame was powder-coated during the build.
The five-digit odometer shows 1,200 miles, which represents the mileage added since the build. Total mileage is unknown.
